Current poets: Robert Pinsky, Ted Kooser, Billy Collins, Donald Hall (in small doses) and Jane Kenyon (1947-1995). Other poets: Robert Frost, Robert Service, Theodore Roethke, Ogden Nash, William Shakespeare, and John Milton. Selected poems from Blake, Browning, Donne, Hughes, Keats, Kipling, Robinson, Rosetti, Tennyson, Whitman and a host of others.

Shel Silverstien, Edna St Vincent Millet, Robert Frost and Shakespeare.
I also love reading love poems and war poems. Garrison Keilor (of Lake Woebegone) has a nice collection out.

I liked Robert Frost when I was a kid.
Maya Angelou can rock a metaphore.
But for comedy, go with Garrison Keillor.... especially his classic "Oh, what a luxury."

I like Edgar Allan Poe. His poems are good and I like them because of how dark they are.
