BEFORE. Because after dinner, your blood is rushing to your stomach to help digest the food. You may get sick and vomit if you run after eating a good sized dinner. Plus it pits undue pressure on your heart.

Chow!!

After becuase, after a good workout your more likley to eat food thats good for you at a good portion size. If you eat before going to the gym your stomach may hurt while working out and you might not even feel like going.

I would say that either would work. The idea behind this is that you should have enough nutrients in your body to keep you from getting depleted, also enough liquids to keep you hydrated. If you do it after dinner I would wait for awhile or you will get an upset stomach. This because al the food hasn't settled or been totally digested.

both times have their distinct advantages & dissadvantages
the candle can burn at either end
Working out after dinner is a great time to burn all iof the fuel that you just put into your fuel tank(stomache)
rather than lying around watching the idot box while your dinner is converted into fat stores

Th only disadvantage I can think of for working out after any meal is
cramps
don't go swimming or do a cardio workout after dinner

if you do it before you need to make sure you have the energy to do it. If you do it afterward, you may be too groggy and sluggish (depending on what you eat). I've heard that either one of them still gives the same results, it just depends on your eating habits and how much you exercise. Just be careful if you do it after a meal...you might throw up if your workout is intense.

General rule, before. Simple reason is, after dinner, you stomach starts working on your food intake. You feel full. You want to relax, not excert any effort. Exercise will only intervene on these things. You know that.

Definately BEFORE!! That way, you work up an appetite. It may sound like it makes more sense to work out AFTER a meal but that could lead to you throwing it back up, ESPECIALLY if it was a big meal... Work out first, take a shower, then eat!!
