how to clean and take off scratches off of my iPod video without getting a liquid into the inside

I used the Tap Plastics polisher/cleaner for my iPod, and I'm very happy with the results.

I cleaned it with a lens cloth and distilled water. then I bought a clear bulletproof shield--the scratches are no longer visible and the shield does not scrath as easily.
