Yes, your mom is right.

Early you can wear tight pants, but then after that give yourself and the baby breathing room.

Also, you must know not to smoke or be around smokers.

Drinking--out of the question.

of course caffine isn't good for the baby, just the same it isn't good for you, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. It doesn't actually HARM your baby. From what I have heard, it can make your baby irratable. Just don't have too much of it! You're ok to wear tight pants, I would imagine that you will stop when it gets too uncomfortable. I would look into the fish though. I know you aren't supposed to eat tuna when pregnant, but I don't know about the other fish.

You need to limit your caffine intake and chocolate has caffine in it. But as for it being bad, i dont think so who can go through pregnancy without chocolate. If you suffer form heartburn later on then chocolate and caffine will cause it to be worse. I just eat it during the day instead of at night when my heartburn is bad.

Chocolate contains such a tiny amount of caffeine that you would have to literally eats pounds of it for it to matter.
As far as coffee goes, most doctors feel that a cup or two of coffee in the morning will not hurt anything. If you want to be super careful you could switch to herbal tea or decaff. It is really up to you.
Why on earth could you not wear your tight pants? Are you worrying about squishing the baby? I promise you the baby will not notice. You will be the one that will start getting uncomfortable as your "tummy" needs more room. Enjoy it while you still have your non-pregnant figure!
Take care and enjoy your pregnancy, it is a precious time!

Your mom is probably just old fashioned. If you are still small, of course you can wear your regular clothes. Don't do it if you are showing because the jeans could be too tight, but otherwise it is fine. I have also asked my dr about the chocolate thing, and he said that there have actually been studies that pregnant women that eat it often tend to have happier babies. Caffeine period isn't good to drink too much, but it isn't going to harm your baby. So, as long as you aren't drinking alcohol too much or doing drugs, and you get prenatal checks, you will be fine.

Caffine because of high blood pressure, i believe Chocolate has caffine in it. high blood pressure could stress your unborn baby, and put you into early labor.
