It depends on what you want the percent to be of.
45 minutes as a percent of one hour would be

(45/60) x100
(60 minutes in 1 hour)
45 minutes as a percent of one day would be
(45/1440) x 100
(1400 minutes in one day)

Hey there. You can safely lose about 8 pounds a month. But that means actually making a real change in your diet, a change that will sustain you for life. you don't want to be ill prepared for life, do you? Sure you can lose 30 pounds on a shake diet, but can you drink shakes forever? No. So, be serious about the food, and the intake. Really, you need about an hour to work out. Stretches for ten minutes, jogging, some weights, cool down etc. I think if you did 30-45 of the running and walking, then did 15 of some weights, then you'll be good.

Here's how to do %:

% = the part / the whole X 100%

In the example you give, add all those up and you get 18 hours (that's what YOU wrote). So 18 is "the whole", and goes in the denominator. You say 7 hours for school, so that's "the part", so you put that in the numerator. Simply take 7 and divide it by 18, then multiply that answer by 100%, and that will be your answer.

You don't need Excel to do this, just use your calculator.

(And if you change to end up with a full 24 hours, like in a normal full day, then that 24 becomes the new "whole" and goes into the denominator.

Think of each day as a pie. There are 24 slices in your pie. In your example it would be: School 7/24, Sleep 8/24, Free time 2/24, Homework 1/24. After you are done dividing, you divide each answer by .01 to get a percentage. Example below:

Sleep 8/24=0.333333333
0.33333333/.01=33.3333
Answer: You sleep 33.333333 percent in one day.

PS What do you do the other 6 hours?

Make a pie with 24 slices in it (there are 24 hours in a day). Color 7 slices orange. So, what you have is...for 7 out of 24 hours, you are at school. That would be 7/24. Now, get a calculator. Divide 7 by 24. You'll get .29%.

Color 8 of the slices green. Now...you sleep for 8 out of every 24 hours. That would be 8/24. Now divide 8 by 24. You will get .33%.

For every set of hours you are given, color that many pie slices. Free time would be 2/24...or two hours out of a 24 hour day. Divide 2 by 24 for the answer.

First of all, base on the giver information,
it doesn't add up to 24 hours a day....
For example:
7 hours for school - 7/24 x 100 = 29%
8 hours for sleep - 8/24 x 100 = 33%

etc...

If you're doing it for a 24 hour period divide whatever the amount of hours is by 24. For instance, if you sleep for 8 hours a day divide 8 by 24 which is approximately .33 which is 33 percent. 2 hours of your day would be about 8% of your day. Good luck.

for minutes, divide by 60. So 45/60 = .75 hours, or 75% of an hour.

for hours, divide by 24. So 8/24 = .3333, or 33.33% of a day.

number of hours divided by 24

8/24 = .333333333 about 33 percent
etc.

I'm no wiz..........but I'd say there's 24 parts to the day and night. now I'd say if I do something for 8hours like sleep....thats 1/4 or 25%..... I think you were just missing the 24 as the base number.
