Come on do you really think Bush reads anything? Maybe Rove uses it as a playbook but Bush doesn't read all he does is babble about what he is told by Cheney or Rove.

Absolutely! What a great question!!!

All the elements are there. Never ending war against two other world forces (communism and Islam). Breaking down on civil liberties. Invasion of privacy. And blatant mind-numbing lies and mischaracterization of government actions.

Maybe Bush did a bit too much coke back in the frat-boy days. I don't think he can knows there's a difference between Orwell's book and the Bible. He thinks he is implementing the bible, but he is really implementing a dictatorial nightmare.

I think he is using an older book, the one the fascists invented. Blow up the Reichstag and blame it on the outsiders so that Hitler could save them from the threat. Then scare the population so that they will be afraid to speak up while you carry out your dark agenda. If they protest, accuse them of heresy and treason. Take over the press so there can be no reporting of what is happening, only cheerleading for the savior of the people and nation. Plunder everything you can get your hands on, both at home and around the world, using the patriotism of the young in the military to carry out your policy. Then hold rallies to celebrate your success under the flag of the country. And oh yes, be sure to set aside 20 million dollars for the end of the war party.

no i dont believe he is. Im guessing you mean literally. The book itself is figurative. Meaning Orwell used an image that was extreme.

I don't think, just for the fact that the book wasnt a real interpretation on purpose, that bush is running the country the way you think he is.

I think the book is a bit out of date but maybe he'd like that if it isn't already in practice.
