Be yourself--your true self. Don't be grandiose or write what you think they want to hear (in the sense that you think they're "looking" for a "type"). Tell them who you really are. If you work, talk about your job. If you take care of your kid siblings, write about how that affects your life. If you collect something unusual, tell how that is important to you. Shine through :)

Build logically. Don't be verbose and don't use needlessly grand words, keep concepts simple and clearly stated, show concern with the world and good human values, show intellectual curiosity. Use spell check. Punctuate properly. A paragraph per concept. They want to see that you can write, they may also want to see if you can do a little basic research to get facts to justify whatever positions you might be asked to argue. Good luck!

Anything trashing Christianity, the military, war, or the American way should do it. If negative essays don't float your boat then you could praise the homosexual movement, the ACLU, Roe V. Wade or the modern educational establishment. Either one should throw the doors to academia wide open to you. You might want to mention your race if you're a minority.

i think of you need to ruin out with it. the considerable factor to do is to concentration on the type you grew from this. do no longer concentration too lots on the dark factors of your existence, and probably shop that section right down to below a paragraph long. remember, the essay is approximately you, no longer your existence. :) solid luck!
