I bought the car used (2002 Honda Accord) and it came with the starter (not from dealer- previous owner). I had the battery replaced and that didn't work. I just don't know where to turn next!

have you considered maybe the sensor within the car may need replaced instead of something being problematic with the remote?

Take it to a car audio place. They can give you prices and tell you whats going on!

if it rather is an oem distant gadget, it rather is disposable style, comes inclusive of the entire set of door actuator and alarms and so on and so on if it rather is OEM, you are able to order from the broker and that they provide you with merely new distant swap. the recent distant would be programmed on your latest module.
