If you are a married woman and had an affair, did you just have one, or were there many?

And if you were caught or admitted to it/them, did you do it again?

And if so, why?

Out of curiosity, what makes women who do not qualify for the question think I give a damn what they have to say?

i have been married for 11 years and when i had been married for 2 years i had an affair, when the affair started my husband was going out with his friends every night drinking and i was always home alone and on his days off he would just pick up and leave, i never knew where or with whom he was going to see. we quit talking. the affair lasted 3 months and i ended it, he eventually found out 6 months later and asked for a divorce, i understood and accepted it, then a week after he wanted to know why i did it, with who and etc. we are now happier and more in love. i still feel guilty for what i did so long ago, i fave to live with it, but after our talk all those years ago and he took me back, he has never thrown it back in my face, never called me names or tried to make me feel bad. so i don't know if this helps, but i am being honest.

The more reliable/believable data I've read is that In America, it's roughly 50% for both sexes over the life-time of a marriage and roughly 5% at any given moment. If was from the statistical break-down of multiple surveys, not [made up] bullet-points in some article. It was also the stats for younger couples as we are either less faithful than our elders or more willing to admit the truth [I tend to think the later]. It's much higher in countries such as France and Japan and much lower in Spain. I can't seem to find the source... I'll come back and post it if I find it.

I suppose if your chips are down it's easier to go through with an affair. But I've never cheated on my husband. We've been married for 8 yrs and together for 10. There were men out there that at times seemed more interesting and exciting but I just could never cross that line. Hope I never will. It takes work to really say no too. some men are attracted to married women for the challenge of getting her to cheat. pretty sick ha? if yours is cheating on you i would suggest to give her an ultimatum---stop it or leave.

do you consider an affair a relationship? i have cheated on my husband, but not with someone in an ongoing relationship. My husband and I were going thru a real crappy time (not an excuse, just saying) and I think part of me thought it would be an excuse to get out of my marriage. I ended up getting pregnant so I told my husband. I lost the baby. we ended up working it out. haven't done it again.
