Yes, I believe it. And I think several other states (esp. Southern states), had similar laws; but laws like this were passed MANY years ago, and would be THROWN OUT as ILLEGAL, if someone today were to challenge them in the courts. But nobody challenges them, so they just usually remain on the books. There are also other ways to get these laws repealed, like the legislature repealing the law, but the easiest way is to go to court, and get them thrown out.
A lot has changed in the last 100 years!

These are called blue laws--Laws that haven't been taken off the books since 1800...
it's against the law in PA to drive your car on the same street as a horse and buggy...if you do you have to pull your car over and cover it, if the horse is afraid of the car you have to take the car apart and cover it.

There is one state that has a law about wooden legs. I do not remember the exact wording, but lots of states have laws written years ago that were never taken off the books.

Do a search for 'Dumb Laws' or 'Strange Laws'. You con read for days. I once found a law in Acworth, GA that required all households to own a rake. The reason listed for passing the law was to point out how dumb is was for Kennesaw, GA to have a law requiring all households to own a rake. No explanation was given for the Kennesaw law.

Why not? According to Kentucy law KRC 436.600 it is illegal to sell a baby chick, duckling, rabbit, or other fowl which have been dyed a color unless you're selling a minimum of six such animals.

I forgot what state this was, but there used to be a law where you couldn't play pinball until you were 18.

I believe it because of where TN is located. I don't agree with it though, since it goes against the Constitution.
