We are hit everyday by asteroids. Even as I write this answer an asteroid or comet is striking the earth.

But your talking about an Extiction Level Event asteroid, one so big that it cant be burned up in time by our earths atmosphere.

Scientist have known for years of some that are on a collision course with earth. Its just a matter of time. And when the time comes they wont panic the earth by telling everyone it will be kept sercret until nessasary.

I dont think there are any coming within the next decade or two, and if there was thats all the time we need to prepare a plan of deflecting it or destroying it.

We wont go without a fight i'll tell you that and hopefully when that time comes it will still leave a post-apocolyptic world for humans to survive in.

Go to SPACE.com and look up information on Potentially Hazardous Asteroids. There are about 200 identified asteroids that may come close enough to endanger the planet. To the best of my knowledge, only one has a Torino rating above 1 indicating a fairly solid chance of hitting the Earth sometime in the next couple of centuries. So if you want to be scared of that, you've got more confidence of living a long, long time before you get killed.

There is no Asteorid heading for Earth that is big enough to destroy Earth. Ive being listening to this scare mongering for years. Most asteorids burn up in our athmosphere. There is no records of any Asteorid ever hitting a populated area of our planet. so relax dude its just scare mongering I promise you..

You said you just found it out, so the answer to "when?" is just now.

Asteroids come all the time. They are more frequent than hemroids and less painful.

It's already hit the earth and you are dead but you do not know it. You have entered another dimension where you live again.

Tragic... Why don't you go jump off a bridge and spare yourself the agony of trying to live in a post-apocalyptic world? :)
