I'm a plus size gal, not too bad, but definitely can't pull off the skin tight slutty costumes. I just need something really easy/cheap that I can wear to my office job and wear out trick or treating with my kids. Oh, and I have cancer so I'm losing some of my hair and have been wearing hats and scarves to work, but what am I going to do about covering my head when I have to wear a costume?

Roman Goddess
American Tribal Belly Dancer (Larger women are valued for this dance style, and they usually wear long blouses, a short vest, flowing skirt, and hip scarf. They also wear turbans.)
Renaissance Artist
The Mona Lisa
Court Jester (Soft, fleece hat with jingle bells!)
Pirate (You can wear a scarf or pirate hat)
Queen (Wear the crown that has that fake fur lining)

Jack O' Lantern, with a pumpkin stem hat (orange sheet with black felt pumpkin face peices)

Bag of leaves

Bubblegum/candy machine with gumball hat (Candy Machine: cardboard box with plastic wrap windows and small colored balloons inside)

Dress in all the same shade purple (purple hat, make-up, jacket, sweatpants, gloves, shoes, etc) and go as Wonka Gum Failed Test Subject # 147. He's getting closer.

Wear a vertical zipper on your belly. Tell people the doctor decided it would be eaiser than cutting you open for every C-section (sick office party humor)

Red hooded robe and a small picnic basket for Not-So Little Red Riding Hood

The "I Don't Feel So Good" look (warm bathrobe, hot water bottle hat, huge thermometer sticking out from under arm or other places, and fuzzy slippers, make-up to suit i.e. bags under eyes, pale/green skin, etc)

Bowling Ball

That's all I can think of right now.

This might sound like a silly idea but how about a pumpkin? It would be great for hiding the figure and you could have a stem and some leaves as a hat and it could end up looking pretty good. Anyways just an idea Good Luck :)

You could go as a flapper and buy a black 20's wig!

Or Little Red Riding Hood and you could wear a hooded cape!

Or a witch with a hat!

And there is always period costumes, such as Renaissance, wear you would have a hat or bonnet!

Hope that helps!

Well, from a plushy sized Otter, here's what my Best Beloved and I went as. I made an orange long tunic (out of some very cheap fabric) and we striped it with reflective white tape. She attached a flashing walking becon to a headband (you could use your chemo cap) and went as a construction barrell. I went as a construction worker..complete with a n eyebrow pencil beard. You could dress the children up as tiny county workers. I hope your cancer gives up and you recover completely. Blessings to you and the children.

How about a "Ghost". It would cover your head and just drape over your body....and not to mention cheap! Good luck, hon!
