Don't believe everything you hear on major media news. They can only report what they are allowed to. If you want to know what is really going on in Iraq, or anywhere else, visit sites such as those listed below.

Iraq is not naturally a "nation." It is a fabrication, a creation of the Brits and French who sliced up the old Ottoman Turk empire after World War 1 in 1918.

The Iraqis were ruled by foriegn rulers from 1258 until 1932 (or 1945, depending on how you count it), so they have very little modern history of self-rule. Iraq has 3 major groups - Kurds in the North, Shiite Muslims in the south, and Sunni Muslims in the central part of Iraq. IN each group, you have various tribes and alliances and factions. None have a history of liking each other.

Saddam came to power after a litany of failed governments after WW2, and kept the peace by brutal force as well as making a few key leaders very rich. Under Saddam, the Sunnis ran everything, and the Kurds and Shiites were often massacred to "keep the peace."

When Saddam was removed from power, all of the old rivalries flared up, and paybacks commenced. This was all worsened by the remnants of Saddam's people fighting the USA, as well as foriegn terrorists that came to try to sieze control and do damage to the USA. Worse yet, there is consideral evidence that Iran is helping various factions with arms, advice and money.

In many ways, Iraq is like Yugoslavia, which broke apart after a brutal civil war after their nasty dictator (Tito) died.

Every soldier I've talked to that is coming back tells me the same basic things:

1. We're doing the right thing there, including lots of help building schools, sewers, etc.
2. The soldiers want to do more, but they are restricted from doing more since the new Iraq government is supposed to be taking over.
3. The Iraqis are not used to govern themselves, and have no experience with civic groups (Kiwanis, Rotary, etc). It will take them a long time to learn.

Does this help?

this is exactly the main problem that none knows what is happening or even can control it .
even those who waged the war , they don't know how to react in this chaos , all what i am so sure about is that everyday more than 50 Iraqi lose their live and 5 American soldiers lose their life CZ of some idiotic president though he could control the world
