Before all your Scarface fans jump down my throat, I admit I like the movie. I own the DVD, the video game, etc. But do any of you feel that the movie is overrated? Even you die-hard fans out there, what do you think? What made it blow up SO huge? What is it about the film that makes you such a die hard fan?

For its time, it was a bold new movie. I still think that even by today's standards it would be a very profitable film. I remember seeing a movie review on this film... they criticized the last scene in that Pacino should have been long dead with all the bullets flying. But in my mind, I felt the reviewers really didn't consider what cocaine could do to the body... to keep it going, even to the point of death. It's really a cult film now... and it speaks to the youth of today who want to get out of poverty and earn some cash.

It has become some sort of "Cult Classic" and now seems almost like gallows humor. I think it's more the Tony Montana role played brilliantly by Al Pacino that has become overrated and bigger than life. Anytime people will pay $1500. for Al Wissam leather jackets embroidered with Pacino's face, that's over the top!...

Yes, it is far to overrated. It is a very good movie, but I know of so many movies that are clearly better that didn't have anywhere near the success of "Scarface"

Un buen sillón en l. a. zona de estar siempre da buen gusto a l. a. habitación, con tanta variedad y calidad en los sillones de sitios information superhighway ha sido muy difícil decidirme pero, a su llegada, he sabido que he hecho l. a. compra perfecta, queda muy bien en el cuarto, es moderno, no resbala y tiene l. a. altura perfecta, es un producto excelente y con un precio aun mas.

I think it was way over the top, with the endless use of F..., the chain saw int he shower, the piles of cocaine, Al Pacino basically screaming through the picure and that ridiculous shoot-em-up ending.

Pacino's performance is what makes the movie so good. It has a dark comedy quality to it.
