The pressure of the water would crush our lungs and there is not enough oxygen that deep underwater to sustain us. We humans can only live 3 minutes without air. Also, where would we get our food and water (we cannot drink salt water)? It takes too long for a submarine to reach the ocean bed. How would we establish/construct a home down there anyways? Perhaps, with higher advances of technology we can obtain that dream, but right now we are limited and the risk factor of dying or failure is too high.

Tube worms live on the hydrothermal vents which pump out hot water at the bottom of the ocean (no lie).
