I do not know the general answer to your question but if you look at the 10k filing of ET, you will find some interesting statistics.
2003 77,053 revenue trades per day
2004 83,643 per day 9% increase
2005 97,740 per day 17% increase
For AMTD the statistics are
2003 143,470
2004 167,958
2005 155,696

I'm not sure if you're asking for quantity of people who trade online or if you are asking who out there on Yahoo Answers uses online trading. Well, if it's the latter, I do and it is much better than using a stock broker because it's less expensive. I can control my own investments without losing a percentage of my profits to someone when I know what I'm doing.
