This must date from the era of prohibition. Marathon dance contests were popular from the 20's through the end of World War II. Some lawmakers probably thought that the non-stop party atmosphere of the contests would fuel illegal drinking. Plus, some conservatives of that time believed that dancing was sinful. (The Bible has no prohibition against dancing, hehehe) Ever seen the movie "Footloose" with Kevin Bacon?

Laws change from year to year. It dont surprise me.
U can have the law amended if the public signs a petition to do so.
Our tax money pays for these laws.
