You can explain how a cow's stomach absorbs food by buying a cow's stomach from the market (yes, they sell those, especially in Asian supermarkets) and a little bit of research. This project helps to explain how cells absorb energy.

The comparison of differences between the male and female minds (right-brained, left-brained) by conducting tests is also a good idea.

you can do it with light also.

Another idea is that you can construct geometric gifure shapes and put them on a surface and check their resistence against earthquakes. a simulator for earthquakes can be made and the different geometrical buildings can be tested. the results can be recorded and the best building design can be chosen.


you can also create bridges and test their strength.

My niece and her friend had a great idea for the science fair when she was in Junior H. S.
The showed step by step examples of how to make homemade paper naturally. They enjoyed it and won 1st place. The paper they created was rather fibrous, but was great water color paper.

you can stick white flowers or celery sticks in food coloring and watch their pigment change, you can see what the effect of an egg is when you put it in different liquids , you can test which sunscreen is the best by putting one type of sunscreen on a piece of newspaper in a plastic bag and then recording the time they turn goldish brown at ( the one that lasts the longest without turning goldish brown is the best)

Get a container and a pin. lightly drop the penand it will sink, pick up the pin, and lighter this time drop the pin the pin should float. Descibe how the water forms an elastic-like seal over the water causing the pin to float. I did this and won my fair. Good Luck!=)
