Sure can!

My son was about 2 years old when he saw daddy putting hot sauce on some food. He of course wanted some, so I gave him a little, and he ate it. As he grew older he asked for it more often, and asked for more of it on his food. He's 15 now and eats hot sauce and various other hot stuff regularly.

I have a very high tolerance for hot spicy stuff and he can almost handle what I eat. I did/do not encourage or force him to eat such foods.

Same situation with my stepdaughter (6 years old). She saw me using hot and pepper sauce on food since she was about 3 years old, and asked for some, she ate it and has gotten used to it. Now she too, will ask for it even if it's not on the table. She often asks for some Tony's Cajun Spice on her food. Once again I did not encourage or force the kids to eat spicy food. They have gotten used to it over time.

Im pretty sure most people can,but I could be wrong. I always assumed that you can considering basically all people over in India can eat some really spicy food, most children start eating it very young and get used to it.

I did; but it took me 25 years. From childhood until about 25, I could NOT stand any spicy tastes. I couldn't even deal with the mild sauce at Taco Bell!

Now I like mild spice and even enjoy jalapenos on my burger or horseradish sauce on my prime rib.

you can do an experiment to see ....try a little bit first ...then eat it regularly....use bread or milk if it gets too overwhelming ..i believe you can train yourself for the spicy taste ....try it and give us some feedback....

I wish you could, but I don't think so. I love eating new foods, octopus, escargot, I'll try anything. But, repeated attempts at hot foods have failed me. Try to eat a little anyway, though, as they are actually good for you

I don't know why not, I have. It's an acquired taste but you should start out with lightly spiced food and keep adding more until you can stand heavily spiced.

Yes, it grows on you and then pretty soon you can practically drink it. I swear!

I love peppers, pepper sauce, Sambul, jalapenos jalapeno juice.
