Can anyone give me any background to this name and if you believe it has a bearing on a person's life - their personality, their personality traits, their life patterns, was their birth time of the year a subconscious influence in their being named .... I really believe a person's personality and their personality traits are 'shaped' by the time of the year they were born and the name they are given.... do you?

Origin : Arabic. It means "the comet"
it is a mixture of two arabic words : al zein = the beauty and al zanab = the tail given to the comets seen in the dark nights in the arabian deserts crossing the skies.
As how the name influences the personality, you have a point.

i really could'nt be sure about the name Zinab, but perhaps you should know that in Arabic it means "tails".. as in my cat has a fury tail... sounds like a fairy tail huh?!
so u decide on wether that affected your personality somehow.
