find german people frightening. this isn't a racist question, i enjoying listening to, and watching rammstein, but i've noticed there is just something really dark, and sinister with how they look, even in interviews, like when they arent playing the characters in the music videos

No not at all, they're a colourful race just the same as the British. Their media image is a far cry from reality, but isn't most media images of a nation a poor distortion of the truth?

Not many have got a good sense of humour and thats one of the big things i miss about being in England...
Rammstein are a very dark group and loads of Germans seem to like them so it gives you an idea as to how the Germans think of life..... But they aint a patch on Robbie Williams lmao

I am a German music finatic and I have not noticed this. Rammstein, my favorite band, does not strike me as dark or sinister, to any degree. It has always made me happy, and occasionally cheerful.

But most people I know would agree with you. I think it's partly because of the Nazis. Our parents were around to hate Germany around WWII and they instill this in their offspring. Let's face it, that is what comes to many minds when the country is mentioned. My uncle pointed this out to me. I offered to let him listen to some German music and he said, "They're not nazis are they?" I said I didnt understand this association, and he said "You were'nt around to hate them." Oh well.

Many of the German bands I know of are gothic, and thus they have a dark sound, but so does most European music I own. I think it's mainly just different from American music, which is usually more successful when it is blatantly "bright and happy."

This doesn't have anything to do with them being German (I personally know some Germans and they are OK), but their music has something creepy about it. I'm not aware of how they look or anything else but the music.

It might be that I'm biased against a certain kinds of music, because a dear friend of mine from high school all of a sudden committed suicide when he was 24 and just about to graduate from medical school. He considered himself a heavy metal fan.

I lived in Germany for 4 years and never once did I find Germans scary. I would go back in a heartbeat!!! The Germans were fun, loving, and very generous. I miss it so much.
You definitely have issues that certainly are not even near normal. I suggest you get help to allay your fears. This is indeed a form of racism. So sad for you-you have no idea what you are missing...

Nein. My encounters with Germans, have been quite jovial. You must remember Rammstein has an image, like Marilyn Manson, to maintain.

German people tend to limit themselves when it comes to expression , Italians are known to be very boisterous and throw their hands all over the place when talking , It's just a national trait we are all the same underneath some just hide better than others try getting to know people before judging them .
