well first of all to put an ls motor in there is probably more time consuming and complicated than u r capable of doing u also probably dont have a welder or a torch or anyother important equipment to make such a swap now an lt motor is possible but it will either have to be a tbi or carb engine they have made the lt 350 engine casting since 73 or 74 cant remember when it started but the dip stick will be on the passenger side that is a lt casting block now the heads have changed from standard small block chevy to vortec intake ports the newer u go up to like 96 they are all the same 96 to 99 are vortec and the intake bolts on differently so u can choose any year make model of lt u want and its easy when u buy parts just say to the parts guy that is a firebird with a 350 sbc in it and ull be fine u just need to make sure ur fuel system and coolant system supports what u build but forget the ls idea to expensive not worth it for the money but u could put any TPI TBI carb or vortec in there u want just make sure u get the harness and make sure u got a tranny than can support the power other than that ur crossmember for ur tranny is fine and the holes for sbc motor mounts in that cradle should already be there hope this helps

If you added an LT350 you would only need the computer and wiring harness, but if you went with the LS style motor you would need to change the motor mounts also. personally i would go with the LS style motor because of the power advantage you would have. I would also change the radiator to keep the new small block cool.

You will need the Chevy transmission and also the engine wiring harness and the computer.
In addition you will need chevy headpipes. Its a bolt in. No cutting needed.

A very good answer for your insurance company when they deny your claim!

I don't know, but it will probably be pretty damn sweet when you're finished. Good luck!!
