An analytical paper is taking a look the components of a story and how the authors deeper meaning is apparent. Your writing to analyze a novel in terms of literary style, tone, or characters. You use specific quotes from the story to support your thesis. You may be asked to analyze a book in terms of application to modern life, in terms of a continuing theme you are studying in class, or uses of literary terms and styles. Good luck!

She wants you to analyze the book from your own perspective. So you have to read it, trust me, the whole thing will come together once you read it.

One that requires a lot of thought and provokes others to ask questions once they read it.

What you do is analyze what the book is about and make comments about it.
