Yes, the main library nearest where it happened is the best place to start. They will be experienced with obtaining exactly this type of information and will know the best research procedure and sources.
The local Coroner's Office should also prove very helpful, though expect to be asked for your ID to show you are genuine.
Sorry for your loss.

to me this is a stupid answer but the day she died right say it was nov 27 2001 go to the library (thats if you still live in the same state where she died in) Ask them if you can get the newspaper for nov 28 2001 they sit you on the computer and give u a cartridge. you will see the newspaper for that day and you can get to read it.

I first thought that you wanted more details on her death, in which case try to county courthouse for the medicial report. But you can go to the library and look in to the microfish.

First, what city/county did it take place in? check the newspapers and internet for info. Chekc her eath certificate as well. If you can find the exact date, finding articles might be easier.
Good luck!

first go to the hospital she expired in and ask for her hospital records, then go to the burea of vital statistics or the health department in the state she died in and get a copy of her death certificate. from there you may be able to trace the info you need.
