The author was a janitor who only wrote his book because he lost his job. He had a degree in English. He was African American. That is all I can remember. I rarely watch Oprah but I remember this man and can't get his story out of my head.

If you can help me I would appreciate it. I doubt I have given you enough to go on. Believe me I googled it first!

I think it was called "Eddy and the magic mop!" by Eddie Jackson. Old Oprah and Eddie had a real nice time just chatting about the book and sweet potato pie ( God do I love sweet potato pie!!! I think it's how they really make pumpkin pie; they use sweet potato. ) and the audience smiled an awful lot too; especially when sweet potato pie was mentioned! I hope Oprah runs for President one day, I like Her style! I never miss an episode unless I've something worthwhile to do. Good Old Eddie Jackson and that crazy mop, what marvelous adventures they had together.
