I hate the idea of choosing between the party whose platform I disagree with least. Why are third parties always on the fringe, or stomped out real quickly (like the reform party)? Are people really that happy voting either Democrat or Republican?

Strange, isn't it? In America, we're given literally hundreds of choices when it comes to automobiles, soda pop, restaurants, gym shoes, housing, and anything else.
Yet the politicians - who claim they market themselves just as anything else that must be 'sold' to the American people - only give us two very limited, very similar choices.
We get to choose between crooked, incompetent, contemptible, sleazy, cowardly, corrupt Democrats or crooked, incompetent, contemptible, sleazy, cowardly, corrupt Republicans. -RKO-

There is a viable third party, the Constitution Party. More and more people are defecting from the "big two" every day. One of these days, there will be enough in a third party to begin taking important elections.

that is a excellent question, I have asked the same thing many times, why o we vote for the same old crooks every time, and what is the difference in the Dem's and Rep"s they both belong to the same master, a third party would make it a little harder for them to buy their votes and be obligated to them because of their hefty contributions, we need a third party and even more candidates, we also need to stop all contributions and let the gov, allot x amount for their campaigns, that would prevent lobbyist and big business from controlling the out come of the elections, the computer and answers could be a god send for a forum to help our candidate's, please consider furthering your desires,

There is. People just have to believe they aren't wasting their votes if they vote 3rd party! We should vote for who we think is the best candidate for the job, NOT the lesser of two evils!

I wish more people would realize that there are more options than just Dem or Rep. That way us who chose to vote for another party would not be forced to vote Dem just to make our vote count.
