They have already been paid for their work in front of a camera ; do we still owe them free acess to the airways?
You and I can not get equal time for our opinions.

Free speech? ? ?
I defy YOU to go to the local T.V. station & tell them YOU want to make a political speech.
But please take a pillow to use when they throw you out on your a-ss.

JUSTAGRAN---You're very accommodating.
If a celeb. decides to make a hate speech at your kid's school, do you just change schools?
You're maximizing their rights and minimizing your own.
You're not ready to be the great protector of free speech.
You can't even protect your damn T.V.

STEWIE---Would,t that mean that you're closed minded?
I want them to enjoy free speech; I just don't want them to have an unfair advantage.
My T.V. doesn't belong to them. So why should I have to avoid them on MY T.V.?

SHOJO--- Cindy was hardly an ordinary cetizen, she is the mother of a dead soldier killed in the war.
She was used by the liberal press to get a good story and also make a political statement.
If she supported the war you wouln't have seen her.

No. The problem is that for the most part they are not qualified. There are many more people far more qualified on virtually any subject than Angelina Jolie and George Clooney.

Cindy Sheehan has proved that an ordinary citizen can get airtime as well. Of course, being a ranting, raving loon is hardly the method most of us would use. I don't have a problem allowing celebs to voice their opinions, as long as they do it on our soil, to our media, and are citizens of this country. Otherwise, they should shut up.

Everyone has the right to use the media if they can get access to it. It's up to US to recognize that those who make their living in the land-of-make-believe are not in any way grounded in reality! They are vocal about their opinion because they can be. That doesn't make what they say credible!

So what if I can't shut them up? I CAN keep my $ from reaching their pockets!! If enough folks make their spending choices like I do, their handlers will put a harness on them...

I suppose you would support them going about with gags on? Do you object to those who support your views talking about that? We poor souls have a whole blogosphere and Yahoo to talk. I can't stand Rush, even his voice is oily, should I demand that he be removed? I don't like Frankens hair, lets get rid of him.
Michael Moore needs a makeover. Off with his head?
Why do some people just hate democracy, unless its their guy?

It's called free speech. Sure, they have more access to publicize their views, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

no they shouldn't because they are to liberal and too many people will listen to a celebrities take instead of doing research on their own to find out who is out there running and find out what they stand for
