Not sure anyone knows. It has psychological components, and bio-chemical, but I think the feeling now is that it is a combination of biology and psychology, with the biological side being strongest. How do you mean it is sociological? There are clear and often strong sociological consequences such as ostracism and personality dissection for people who are homosexual. Then they act neurotic and perhaps compulsively effeminate or macho or they abuse themselves and the vicious circle keeps spinning. For others, it has minimal sociological impact, they are reasonably well adjusted and happy being who they are. Interesting you don't ask this question of heterosexuals. Who might be self-destructive, abusive, need to be in therapy or are already, drinking, gaining weight, beating their children, developing all kinds of neurotic and unhealthy ideas and practices. All emotional and mental life i.e. spiritual, has many components. Homosexuality probably has no more, or less than any other sexuality.
