3x/4=-24
multiply by 4
3x=-96
divid by 3
x=-32

I'm assuming by looking at this, it is this:
3/4x=-24 right?

If so, this is what you do:
(4/3)(3/4)x=-24(4/3)
x=-32

The reason why you use the inverse of 3/4 to 4/3 because you are trying to isolate the x all by itself. I hope I made this clear. If not, then someone else who answered this question made more sense than I did. Good luck!

mult. by 4: 3x = -6

div. by 3: x = -2

(Note: -32 is wrong)
