Snowball is the obvious choice! Unfortunately though the real answer is that people quite often follow the path of least resistance or in this case the path of greed. Napolean was evil, but it was a masked evil until he secured control.

In some ways it's kinda like the news articles where people are quoted about the neighbor that is found out to be an axe murderer or some other distastful type of crime.

"Gee, he was always such a nice guy. He always smiled at me and said hello. I just can't believe he'd do such a thing."

This should sound familar to a lot of people!!! In fact, I wish I had a dime for everytime I've heard this one! I think I'd be rich by now!!!

I'm partial to Old Major, myself.

Napoleon's a no-brainer. Obviously corrupt and a tyrant. Who would really want that?

Snowball seems better, but is in many ways worse. With Napoleon you know what you're getting if you only pay attention. Snowball, on the other hand, was demonstrably complicit in ill deeds. Whatever his INTENTIONS were, he was too weak to back them up.

So if you ask me, BOTH Napoleon and Snowball should be run out of town on a rail. Who does that leave me? The original ideologue, Old Major.

Funny, everyone's saying Snowball but in real life Napoleon gets voted in over and over and over again...

Snowball I think - I don't think life under Napoleons laws would have been much fun - besides I think he was only looking out for himself.

Snowball's idea to take a holiday in Mexico was not a wise one.

Snowball, bless him could never have won - it's always easier to appeal to people's basest instincts of greed etc.

Thanks for posting a question that rises above the norm.
