Contact your card company and tell them to stop the billing! AOL sucks and the next thing they will do is try to make you give a reason for quitting them! Go to the AOL website and click the customer support link at the very bottom of the page to find a phone number, when you get ahold of a rep, tell him you want this crap stopped! He will give you a bunch of bs, tell him that you are now going to record this conversation and that you are going to contact your lawyer!

No they can not delete a screen name because you don't want it there anymore. Yahoo can't either. Nor att or your cable companies. Once a sn is created it stays no matter what company you get it thru. Even if you created a secondary sn under your major sn it takes forever if ever for that name to be available again. You can cancel your acct but it will not delete your sn.There's a huge difference between the 2. accept that just like with any other company they can not make your sn just disappear. I've had an att/yahoo sn that i cancelled years ago and it's still there if I ever want to open it again. I know it may seem like it but this isn't some big conspiracy aol has worked up to keep customers.

I'm no expert on the law, but it seems to me that AOL have broken the terms of the contract with you by cancelling your account. Why don't you go see someone at the Citizen's Advice Bureau, or consider taking AOL to the Small Claims Court. I'm pretty sure that if you win your case, AOL will have to pay your court costs. (Check it out first. As I say, I'm not expert in law.)

The previous responses that you've received also seem valid. Speak to your Credit Card Company about stopping withdrawals from your account, and ask them about reclaiming what has 'wrongly' been taken from you.

As a last resort, consider cancelling your Credit Card, though, if AOL want to get stroppy, they may take you to court, stating that it was you who defaulted on the contract.

Oh yes, whatever you decide to do, keep a record of all the names of people, and what position they hold, along with information given to you. This should aid you should court come up in the proceedings. (Keep copies of emails, telephone records, etc. if you do attempt to get in touch with AOL.)

those people are money suckers, they will do everthing toget your money, i was in a similar situation before. They will keep on charging you until the contract for the service is over even if u wont be using their service. the best way you can get some money back is to find someone who want a new internet service and tranfere your account to that person.

they really suck *ss, when you wanna cancel, its either their lines are busy or they aint working at all.

they are still billing you for it as its usually a year to year contract so they will and can still take their money out of your account every month.....until the yearly contract is up
