If it's bad enough that you figure that you need crutches, you should convince your parents that you need to see a doctor. You may need exrays.

I had the same thing happen to me in high school. Crutches help for about the first few days - but the best idea is to get back on it and walk again. It will get better in time. Buy a brace for it, and just try to walk on it. If it isn't better in a few days then go to the doc and get it x-rayed.

Well, if it is so bad that you can barely walk on it, then crutches I guess would be the only solution. The only down side to crutches is that you don't exactly go that fast on them, and it is kind of inconvenient getting around, and they are quite annoying (though the first day is always sort of fun).

i have twisted my ankle many a time and have never needed crutches. altho i did need a tubigrip bandages each time i did it. the best advice is to rest. it will get better in a couple of days. altho i do suggest going to hospital. you may need to be xrayed because its very easy to chip a bone in your ankle. and also incase you need physio depending how bad your ankle is. the worst twist i had i needed physio. if you go to hospital they can advice you on if your injury is serious enough for crutches. get well soon i remember the pains!
