Some of the best CFA's (Certified Financial Analysts) were something other than a CFA in a 'previous life'. One was a geologist ~ Makes phenominal money as an oil/gas analyst now, because he actually understands the tests the oil companies are doing (and what chance they actually have in finding that black gold)!

I will be finishing my BA in Communication ~ 3 weeks before I'm 40 and hopefully starting MY new career in May '07!

Never let age be a factor, only your aspirations.

No. That's as good an age as any to start a new career. It's great that you've got a goal in mind, and the initial step (or more) in an action plan to enable you to meet that goal. You will have many good years ahead of you in a rewarding profession. I wish you the best.

No. My ex-husband decided to go to law school and become a lawyer at 47 years old. He is 1 year away from graduation now and taking his state bar exam. My friend is going to become a nurse at 45.

I acquired my new career at the tender age of 35. 32 is not too young in this economy.
