Would you stay married to someone who couldn't even figure out how to use a can opener?

Many reasons (we cant really know for sure, but what is out there and what they both voiced one time or another): like someone said above Jessica's father might have been one reason why they ended the marriage: Nick wanted to move on, after the show "newlweds" finished, and Jessica father wanted them to do more shows together: money was one issue
And the fact that their compatibiliy for one another was fading: they already had a rocky dating relationship, marriage wasnt going to change their personalites.
Their very different people: opposites attract, but that doesnt mean that a relationship can remain strong on pure attraction.
In JS single I Belong To Me: she was stating that she makes herself whole and has to be real to herself. Many relationships end or have major conflict because one of the couple believes once your in a relationship you have to sacrifice for your mate.
Nick is a home body and Jessica enjoys the spotlight. Days when he wanted to stay home she wanted to go out and party: Nick wanted a girl who would sacarifice more for him, and his current girl friend is quiet and loves being home with him.
I think Jessica partied too much for Nick's taste.
And Nick wanted to change her for someone she doesnt want to be right now.
It didnt work out: but they were a really cute couple.

Probably because Jessica was sooo into herself and never gave it up to Nick. She had a good thing with him. Now look at her. Alone and pitiful.

They broke up because they were constantly fighting for position in front of the mirror! They were each too preoccupied worrying about themsleves.

maybe because she was too popular for him and he wasn't taking it so good. She was very popular and he was sitting in the backround the whole time. its hard for some men to sit back and watch the wife get all the attention.

i don't think we will every really know. but I think a lot of it had to do with her father controlling everything. on top of that jessica was very pre-occupied with herself.
