Do I need a special soft-ware program to download photos to a CDrom disc? Or do I need to buy hardware equipment. I'm pretty new at this, and thought it would be a piece of cake but alas, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting, and I can't get it right yet. Any suggestions?

You need a cd burner drive! You cant burn on a cd rom drive! Keep in mind that everybody and their brother makes these units and not all are created equal! Make sure you purchase a unit that will burn in all of the kazillion different file formats!

You can go to www.kodak.com and download there easyshare software. It will burn to cd or dvd disk. It will work with your sony camera. I have it working with 3 different cameras and it works great..Make sure you have a CD burner or DVD burner the DVD will burn both disk and the CD will only burn on CD disk...Thanks

No, just save them to your hard drive via cable/cradle and then burn them to a CD from the folder where you saved them.
