I mean, yeah, there are some of the good ones on now, but now I'm seeing more flops because either they have a good story, but bad actors; plus the fact that they're usually unapposed for the box-office. Anybody with me?

It's not ALL for kids in their 20's. I'm 22 and I can't stand most of the crap Hollywood tries to pass off as entertainment. Let’s face facts they are catering to a majority. Those movies are making money. What does that say about our culture? If it looks cool, has fast cars and girls showing off every inch of skin they can get away with Americans will watch it and buy it. Movies that are intelligent are cult classics or are nonexistent anymore. The television has made America complacent and stupid. That’s why so much plotless garbage is so popular.

That’s just me on my soapbox.

Hi Britcop Jim,

I disagree. I've seen some very good movies lately. There are a lot of great movies out there. Just check out what movies are out there and check and see what the critics say. Find a critic that matches your favorite style of movie and enjoy.

People talk up the old classic movies, but Hollywood churned out movies on a weekly basis and many of them were terrible. I love a lot of the old classics too and have quite a few in my DVD collection, but there were an awful lot of bad movies that came out too that we tend to forget.

God yes!!! Being from LA I miss the great movies of yesteryear, it's all about the teeny boppers and kids in their 20s, FALL is the time of year for oscar consideration, when the good movies come out, then we scramble to see them all, it can be fun but exhausting as well.

it seems like what you said is completely correct...
the story lines start off good and fall real fast, and even some of the great actors are not standing up to their reputations and they are not perform like they used to...
maybe they need 100 billion a movie to do better?

OH well lets just hope it gets better..

They used to care about making good films. Now all they care about is how much money they can make. Thank God for the independent film. They care more about making a quality movie than a big blockbuster.

Ya, the movies have been getting worse and the reason is obvious: they're running out of ideas. 'Snakes on a Plane' ??!!?!=> They're obviously running out of ideas.
Because they're running out of ideas, they're focusing on biographies and more real occurences in life.

On the other hand, documentaries are getting better and better because they're realisti.c

lately the movies are more commercial, rather than quality.

for instance: the break up, friends for the money, those asr just some, but there are a lot of meaningless stories and awful performances.

the last 2-3 years have been pretty grimm in the movie department. i think the new batman and chronicals of narnia are the only truely good movies that have happened recently.

Well, I think it's just a pattern... they have a wave of crappy movies, then a small surge of good ones... Now, it's back to the ones I won't pay for.

more people need to ask for there money back, don't set through a pile of ***** just because you paid for it, get up and leave and demand your money back, they will give your money back or a voucher. that will help send a clear picture. I for one know in a few mins if its a good or bad picture.
