That actually happened to me with yellow bellied sliders. I had one healthy one, and one that didn't grow. I actually ended up taking the small one to the vet b/c it developed some type of bacteria or virus that started to destroy one of the legs. I didn't ever find out what it was caused from, he most likely had it when I got him, but I had to leave him out of the tank for about an hour a day in a warm area and put this cream stuff on the infected area, and then give an insulin injection every other day. But I would suggest taking it to the vet if you can afford it. So he could have a virus or illnes. I know I didn't really answer the question, but I tried to give some insight on what could be wrong. Good Luck.

if one has tripled it's size that quick, i've never heard of that. my slider have been growing around one half to three fourths inch a year, the females do grow more rapidly than the males and get quite larger.

some animals won't eat pebbles. My iguana did that for a on a similar time as till i began mixing it with th food he enjoyed. further and extra via the years. Animals are proof against replace epically if the pebbles a brightly colored or have no colour. interior the wild mind-blowing colorations propose "poison" and no colour potential "ineffective". so it is beneficial to attempt mixing till they get use to it.
