It all depends on how you land. If you land head first on a hard serface, a fall from just the first floor would be enough to kill you.
They say that the highest you can fall landing on your feet and survive is four stories.

It also depends on what physical condition you are in as to what you can walk away from.

Rember, its not the fall that kills you, it's that sudden stop in the end that does.

It isn't the fall that kills you... its the ground. It all depends on how you land. I've heard of people dying falling from a one story building and others who have survived a fall after skydiving from thousands of feet high.

Depends on how you land i suppose... land on your head a 5 foot fall could kill you.
