You are so nearly there.
If the cutting down method is working for you, carry on with it.
Go to one every two days, and then one per week.

It doesn't work for most people, but we are not all the same.

What worked for me was reading the word powerless. I didn't want to be known as powerless of a tiny cigarette. The thought embarrassed me and I quit right then and there. After a few days I realized that what I really gave up wasn't just a tiny cigarette but thousands of chemicals. I was like yay me. Look at what I did. I'm stronger than I realized. I smoked for 26 years. I quit 5 months ago. I tried the cut down thing, the gum and the patches and none worked for me. I still get urges but they don't last long at all. I got my power back and I never want to lose it to a stinking cigarette again. When you find a reason that will make you want to give them up 100%, you will. Don't give up hope.

You can quit. One cigarette a day is almost a quit.

Just stop. At this point, anything could calm you down as long as you talk yourself into it.

For one day, don't have that one, for the next day do the same thing. Then guess what, you quit.

good luck

I am proud of you, not everyone has the strength to quit.EVERYONE CAN SAY JUST DON'T HAVE THAT ONE CIGARETTE but it is a difficult thing to do you are courageous for even trying to quit, I know people that are still in denial about the harm-full effects of cigarette smoke.

Actually cigarettes are a stimulant. Instead of having that one smoke a day focus on a hobby, get to those hard to get cob webs in the attic .... take a walk. Go smell clothes that don't stink of smoke.

It's a mental thing...it actually doesn't calm u down, u just think is does.

I quit 2 1/2 month ago, cold turkey. You just gotta get in the right frame of mind.

It sounds like you're ready to quit. Just don't buy any more. If you don't have any on hand you'll be less likely to want one. The first couple of days are the hardest but once you get past those it gets easier and easier. I quit cold turkey almost two years ago. You have to just make up your mind and do it.

You can do it. I'm struggling too, and I can't even make it down to one a day. You are so close! Keep up the good work.

You need a new mindset. That's why... if you don't believe you can quit, then you're gonna die young. That's the bottom line, so take all your deathsticks and flush them down the toilet!
