It was Aston Villa v Burnley in a league cup tie at Villa Park. It may have been the semi final but I can't actually remember. A neighbour took me and we were at the front on the half way line so had a superb view. The centre forward for Villa was Gerry Hitchens who played for England and later moved to Italy. The centre forward for Burnley was a similar type player called Ray Pointer. They were both old fashioned centre forwards. The score was 1-1. It was a night match and there was a superb atmosphere.

It was in either the 1989-90 or 1990-91 season. I was watching Tottenham and Arsenal on tv here in Canada, Tottenham were wearing their yellow jerseys and held the Gunners to a 2-2 draw. I remember the announcer saying that Arsenal was the favourite to win the league and that Spurs were one of the middle teams. I can't remember any of the players, but I am sure that Arsenal did go on to win the league that season. I have been a Spurs fan ever since.
