1. act of persuading: the act of persuading somebody to do something
2. ability to persuade: the ability to persuade somebody
Persuasion is a form of influence. It is the process of guiding people toward the adoption of an idea, attitude, or action by rational and symbolic (though not only logical) means. Are you referring to "Hobson's choice?" If so, that's more akin to not having any choice at all (for example, you can pick any horse you want as long as it's this horse; otherwise, go elsewhere to find a horse)

Hobson's choice. Hobson was a horse trader who often gave customers their choice of any horse they wanted - as long as it was the one he chose to sell you.
Another prime example was Henry Ford, who would sell you a Model T automobile in any color you wanted - as long as it was black.

Bullying.
I think we've all been a victim to it at some point in our lives. Maybe the playground, at work, peer pressure, etc?
