Tamora Pierce is one of my favorite authors. She shows women in positions of power, instead of weak, whimpering girls. Alanna was one of my all time favorite characters. She was strong, yet she had times where she doubted herself. It made her human. I also read Daine's quartet and loved everyone of them. The best thing about Tamora Pierce is that all of her books tie together so well! I just finished Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen, and I loved the references to past characters. Plus, it lets us kind of finish their stories as well. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. In my opinion, The Immortals was the best. It was so interesting and it really made you want to be there.

I love the series about those kids with magic skills that are sent to a special school? I don't remember what they are called. But I remember that I bought the hardcover edition of the first book b/c the cover was so interesting!! It had two of the students on top of a roof with the scenery of the school in the background and big sky behind everything. It's a good book too.
