First of all, it sounds like you have an office PC (as you have a corporate operating system). As win 2000 is now classed as an "old" operating system, it's likely that you have an "old" PC; so that rules out having a recovery partition.

As for using system recovery, Win 2000 does not have this feature (only Windows ME and Windows XP have this), so forget what the others have said.

I'm afraid that without the OS CD you are not going to be able to "reset" your PC back to factory settings. The only way to "reset" your PC is to purchase another disk.

The good news is that as Win 2000 is rather old, you should be able to pick up another copy very cheaply from your local PC shop (forget PC World).

Another alternative is to purchase Win XP, which is considerably newer, this can be purchased anywhere, the home Editon can be purchased for around the £70 mark (approx $110), the Corporate edition....Win XP Pro costs about £110 (approx $200).

If you want to freshly install your OS, just boot the PC with the CD in the drive. During the Setup procedure, you will have an option to format and/or repartition the drive on which you are going to install the OS.
