Well, I don't think you are being silly. I am 28 weeks pregnant with my first, and I am totally paranoid. You should probably talk to your doctor, but if it concerns you, I would abstain this year. I mean, chances are there is nothing to worry about, but wouldn't you feel awful if something DID happen? I say better safe than sorry. If nothing else, remember that you are getting to a point where you may lose your balance easily, you are more prone to injury due to softening of ligaments, etc. If that kind of stuff scares you, you probably aren't in any condition to be startled or chased by a masked man wielding a chainsaw!
I vote to err on the side of caution. This is just one Halloween. Don't let anyone talk you into something you are uncomfortable with.
Good luck! and Congrats!!

Your baby is in a very safe place. You can do just about anything physical. As long as it's not going to hurt you, it won't hurt the baby. Now when you're 7 months or more you could have some guide lines depending on how the pregnancy is going. Flying is not recommended towards the end of most pregnancies. There is a book for expecting Mothers called "What to Expect When You're Expecting" or something like that. You can get it at any large bookstore or even at Babies R Us. It is the most wonderful book of information. Every pregnant mother should read this. It will help to understand just what is going on with your child and everything is broken down to a month by month description. Your pregnancy, childbirth and homecoming will go a lot better for you with the knowledge this book has to share. Please make sure you see a doctor and go to all your appointments. It's very important for the safety of you and your baby. Good Luck.

At 15 weeks I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you watch where you're walking, don't take a fall, etc. However, some haunted houses have a policy just like rollercoasters- pregnant women or those with heart conditions shouldn't participate. I actually went to one in my hometown the other day and they said that for liability reasons, pregnant women are not admitted. Of course, at 15 weeks, they probably wouldn't know unless you said something. If you're really worried, see if maybe your husband can get his Halloween kicks in a more lowkey way- say, a corn maze, ghost walk, etc...my husband and I did some of those too, and they can be fun.

I know exactly how you are feeling. I too am 15 weeks along and my friends want us to go to a haunted forest with them. I HATE haunted houses, they always scare the beegeezes out of me. I hate it when people jump out of us, I am so scared, I absolutely hate it. My hubby is being nice about it and not making us go. I know I couldn't handle it and I know that the stress wouldn't be good for the baby, but I REALLY freak out. If you don't think that you'll freak yourself out too much, then I would think it would be fine. If you really don't want to go, then use it as an excuse. Say some haunted houses won't let pregnant women in there for liability purposes. Good luck :)

I wish they would have had yahoo answers 3 years ago...lol. My mother in law kept telling me not to go to a haunted house because it could scare the baby and cause her to stutter. Well, now I'm nearly 21 and have never went to a haunted house. You go and have fun but please be careful. Make sure you won't trip over anything or fall.

Being scared won't hurt the baby, I watch scary movies all the time! But be careful, places like that can be disorienting, dark and dangerous. People push and shove. They could get scared and run into you knocking you over.
Go and have fun, but be careful of others!!
Happy Halloween!!

I don't know if getting scared will harm your baby directly but I don't see why a person would want to stress themselves out intentionally while pregnant. Your baby can tell when you're freaking out. I'd play it cool this Halloween, if it were me.
