I've had acne all my life. Proactiv works for mild acne - but you can't stop using it or it comes back. I personally never found a cream or pill from my doctor to work. BUT, I am not a patient person so Retin-A, etc. that require 6-12 weeks to work were more than I could take. Plus any clearing immediately resulted in my no longer being good about using the products.

I finally got a permanent solution for my face when I had something called IPL, a photofacial, which is a laser. I no longer get any breakouts, although I go for monthly facials to keep my pores clear. The cost was expensive 600 dollars for 2 treatments by a dermantologist in NYC.

I found a great site called acne.org which is just a guy's journey through the process and what finally worked for him. I was already cleared up by then but loved the site. He doesn't promote any products and there are great message boards.

Good luck to you!!!

I know all the TV commercials are annoying and everything, but Proactiv really does work.

Got to the doctor. They can give you creams if it is bad.
