The electrical energy (power) passing through them is dissipated as heat. They are made of materials such as nichrome wire or carbon compounds that have resistance to the flow of that electrical energy.

it somewhat is using the friction produced by way of the flow of electrons between resistor molecules. This produces a power dissipation, used to regulate the voltage in different portion of the circuit. or only to pass warm to a pair place, room, an oven and so on.

They conduct electricity or should i say that is there purpose. There are three layers of chemicals that resistors are formed on. The resistors are heat treated in a hot oven furnace.
