I am so sorry you are experiencing that problem. When it came time for me to think about using Messenger 8.0 over Messenger 7.5, I decided to stay with Messenger 7.5 and I have been fine, still using it. Sean I.T. in the Computer and Internet category here on Yahoo! Answers once gave me the old version link back to Messenger 7.5, and what I am hoping is that someone reading these various answers will provide it for you. I printed it out but I can't for the life of me find it, and I am so sorry. Please - someone out there give this young lady the link to the Messenger 7.5 old version so if she continues to be frustrated with the newer version, she will have this "ace in the hole" to fall back on. Thank You!

If it happens immediately, I have no idea, but if it happens over a period of time - mine does, because some resources are being taken up and not dropped when they are finished with. I have to log out of Live Messenger every hour or so and then back in.

But you can only successfully log out, (When getting the message unable to log out of Live Messenger) by going to Control Panel, Internet Options and deleting temporary Cookies and Files) and then selecting retry.

It is only Beta so we can't complain - but they should have fixed one would have thought!

if you uninstall then reinstall and it doesn't work, I would just stick to the older version. Wouldn't you rather have an older, but more reliable version than a newer one that is constantly shutting down?

Have you had problems with the telephony options? I found that VOIP solution Windows Call was crashing mine. It seems to crash after you hang up a call.
