I hooked up the router to my computer which currently has dsl. My laptop detects the connection and appears to be working but then when I open internet explorer it says it cannot connect to server. I got it to work once before but then I rehooked it and it stopped working. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the router itself because the laptop could still detect the network and the laptop itself works fine at other wifi areas. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone know what's going on. Thank you ahead of time.

Try disabling it and restarting your laptop. then restart your router.

If PC can use internet, then must recheck
LT's connection. ISP often provides a limited service for 1 home PC not network with router.

Nowadays, unless you have the wifi code, your access will be denied. The wifi code will be the numbers on the bottom of the wifi transmitter. You also need to go to your internet connection on your laptop to access the wifi hook-up, at that time you will be asked for the code.

If you use more than one/two different wireless connections, you could remove them which you don't use at that time and make enable the one which you will use . That may work.

GOOD question. mine does the same damn thing and drives me insane! now I have to have it directly connected cause I can't figure it out! argh!

go to cmd
type ipconfig /all
type ipconfig /release
type ipconfig /renew
