I can't cite geophysical or geochemical evidence for mantle convection, but I don't need to do that. We see the effect of Plate Tectonics and infer that it is due to the movement (convection) of the underlying mantle. We see the upwelling and creation of new oceanic plate at the Mid-oceanic Ridges. I know of no theory that adequately explains these processes. Slab pull? Well.......
