The easiest way is if there's a theatre in your area that produces new material; you can personally lobby the artistic director to take a look at your work. Don't overplay your hand, you don't want to alienate the person who can make your theatre career for you; but be subtle and persistent.

Failing that, go to Amazon.com and purchase The Dramatist's Sourcebook. This book is published bianually by Theatre Communications Group, and it collects the contact information, important names, and likes and dislikes of several hundred American theatres. Take your time, browse around.

I encourage you to cultivate contacts within the industry. Attend seminars, and make a point of shaking hands with the conductors. Go to a lot of shows. Volunteer as a deckhand or usher at local productions. Write unashamed fan letters. Do whatever it takes so the right people learn your name and face.

Most important, don't get discouraged. Some people will tell you that you can't make it because you're a newbie, or because you're young, but every famous playwright started somewhere. The only way to make it in the arts is to refuse to be broken.

Well, don't let peopel get you down, they are upset becouse they didn't make it right away and are bitter about it. Follow your dream.

I Agree, look at local theaters and community playhouse, who will owrkshop the pla. Spelling Bee starting in a theater built in an old kitchen and is a tony winning show.

You might not hit broadwayor hollywood on the first try. Also, look for publising compaines, they can get stuff out there, and help.

You need to send the script out to every person who even has the slightest chance of getting it somewhere.

Would youbr willing to let others read it? Maybe post a link or set it up in a public forum, this is one way for new talent to be discovered. KI for one, would like to read it, if you don't mind

If your plays are good you should not have a problem having them produced. Mail your script to the community theaters in the city where you live.

First, check your spelling. It's SCRIPTS! Next, I hate to tell you this, but you are underage and you need CONNECTIONS in the industry, or at the very least an agent. Agents generally only work with previously published writers, and ones who are older than you. You need to take screen writing courses and do local things (local playhouses who might put on your play). Kid, you don't jump from writing scripts in your bedroom to sending them out to a big producer! It does not work that way. I suggest you start small (locally), and then develop a portfolio (one with NO mistakes). Learn proper format. Learn what sells and what doesn't. You have a VERY LONG way to go before you can even think about a producer. Good luck.

Didn't Matt Damon "jump" into the big screen with his first script?
